Macy's is now accepting Paze as a checkout option!

Your next Macy's purchase could earn you two different types of rewards on the same order. Macy's just added Paze as a checkout option, and that small change turns an existing points offer into a real stacking opportunity.

Here's how to take advantage of it.

First, What Is Paze?

Paze is an online checkout wallet backed by the major banks. Instead of typing in a 16-digit card number, you check out with Paze and it pulls from a card you've already added. It's free, and there's nothing to buy or sign up for beyond adding your card.

Why it matters right now: certain credit cards are earning bonus points when you pay with Paze — and Macy's just became one of the places you can use it.

The Offer: An Extra 10x Points With Paze

Several Chase cards are currently earning an additional 10 points per dollar when you check out with Paze at participating merchants. The eligible cards are:

• Chase Sapphire Reserve®
• Chase Sapphire Preferred®
• Chase Freedom Flex℠
• Chase Freedom Unlimited®
• Chase Freedom® (older card, closed to new applicants)

The details:

• You earn 10 extra points per dollar, on top of your normal card earnings.
• The bonus applies to up to $1,500 in Paze purchases per month.
• That's up to 15,000 bonus points per month.
• The offer runs through December 31, 2026.

Max it out every month for the rest of the year and that's a meaningful pile of points from spending you may already be doing.

Now the Double Dip

Here's where Macy's comes in. Because Macy's now accepts Paze, you can layer two rewards on one purchase:

Step 1 — Start your Macy's purchase through Rakuten. Depending on your settings, Rakuten pays you in cash back or American Express Membership Rewards points. This is your first layer.

Step 2 — Choose Paze at checkout. Paying with Paze on an eligible card triggers the extra 10 points per dollar. This is your second layer.

One purchase, two separate rewards.

What the Math Looks Like

The Paze side is fixed at 10 points per dollar (up to the monthly cap). The Rakuten side depends on the rate Rakuten is offering that day, so treat it as a variable bonus on top:

• $100 purchase → 1,000 points through Paze, plus whatever Rakuten is paying that day
• $500 purchase → 5,000 points through Paze, plus that day's Rakuten rate
• $1,500 purchase → 15,000 points through Paze (the monthly max), plus that day's Rakuten rate

So if Rakuten happened to be running an elevated rate on a $500 purchase, you could walk away with the 5,000 Paze points and a matching chunk from Rakuten on the exact same order.

Things to Keep in Mind

• The 10x Paze bonus is capped at $1,500 in purchases per month, per the offer.
• It runs through December 31, 2026.
• You need one of the eligible Chase cards, and the Paze benefit has to be showing on your account.
• Paze works at plenty of merchants beyond Macy's, so this strategy isn't limited to one store.
• It does not allow purchasing $10 gift cards using Paze.
• Heads up on shipping: Macys.com generally requires around $39–$49 to ship for free. If you'd rather skip the shipping cost, check whether store pickup is available on your order.
• You can earn a $10 statement credit by spending $10 or more using Paze online checkout. This promotion runs through September 10, 2026, and you can use it up to 10 times per eligible card (earning up to $100 back per card). No special sign-up or activation is needed. More about this offer here.

JOP Tip

This works at participating merchants far beyond Macy's, so think of Paze as the strategy, not the store. Add an eligible card to your Paze wallet, start through Rakuten whenever you shop, and check out with Paze. Just watch the $1,500 monthly cap and the December 31 end date so you know how much runway you have.
