British Airways opened a huge amount of business class space between the US and London, from Dallas, Pittsburgh and New York. Here are the dates, the points you need, and how to book before the transfer bonus ends.

If London (or Europe) has been on your list, this is a good week to look. British Airways has released a large amount of Club World business class space out of the US, and a lot of it is priced at the low end. From Pittsburgh and New York you are looking at 88,000 Avios each way, which drops to about 68,000 Amex points while the current 30% transfer bonus is running. That bonus ends September 27, so the cheapest version of this only lasts a few more days.
The Deal
British Airways has business class award space between the US and London across the next several months, on British Airways flights. Three gateways stand out: Dallas, Pittsburgh and New York. Space is widest in spring and summer 2027, with many days open and some dates showing all nine business seats. These awards are booked with Avios, and a 30% Amex transfer bonus through September 27 lowers the number of Membership Rewards points you need.
The Plane, and the Seat to Avoid
From Dallas, this flight is the Boeing 787-10 Dreamliner, which has British Airways' newest business class, called Club Suite. Every seat has its own path to the aisle and a sliding door, so you are not climbing over anyone during the night. That is the one you want.
From Pittsburgh and New York the aircraft can change, so check the seat map before you book. The 787-10 has the newer Club Suite. The 787-9 is a mix right now, so look for the newer cabin. If the seat map shows the yin yang layout, try another date.
The Prices
These are per person, each way, on British Airways flights. The Avios numbers are for off-peak dates, which is most of what is open. Dates marked peak, like the Christmas and New Year stretch, cost more Avios, so treat these as the floor. The 30% bonus only lowers the points you need. The taxes stay the same.

New York (JFK and London)
- 88,000 Avios each way + about $391 from New York.

- New York has more space than I can list here, so search your dates and you will very likely find something.

Please confirm any date in your own search before you transfer. Below is the picture from Dallas and Pittsburgh. New York is wide open, so I did not list it out.
How to Book
- Create a British Airways Executive Club account at ba.com if you do not have one yet.
- Search your dates on ba.com and find the business class award seat.
- Confirm the seat is really there before you move any points. Award space can disappear, and point transfers usually cannot be undone.
- If the seat is there, transfer your Amex points to Avios and take the 30% bonus before it ends September 27.
- Book the flight on ba.com.
How to Transfer Your Amex Points to Avios
Once you have found and confirmed your flight, here is how to move your Membership Rewards points to Avios:
- Open the American Express app.
- Tap Membership.
- Tap Redeem Rewards.
- Tap Transfer Points.
- Select British Airways.
- Transfer your points.
Through September 27, Amex is running a 30% bonus to Avios, so 1,000 Membership Rewards points become 1,300 Avios. That is why the after-bonus numbers above are lower than the Avios price.
Booking Tips
- Find the seat first, transfer second. Space can vanish and transfers usually cannot be reversed.
- Check the aircraft. Go for the 787-10, or a 787-9 that has been refitted with Club Suite, and skip the old yin yang Club World.
- Off-peak dates are the cheap ones. Peak dates like the holidays cost more Avios, so the numbers above are the floor.
- Some dates have all nine business seats open. If you are booking for the whole family, those are the ones to grab.
- Taxes are higher on the London return because of the UK departure tax. That is normal for a British Airways flight, not a mistake.
