How much I spent on 5-star hotels in Paris, traveling on points!

My first time in Paris! Oh, what a lovely city! Every corner is magical, their croissants, their amazing jelly, the French wine! How not to fall in love with this blessed place! I was absolutely in love by minute one! My husband and I were having a really good time, and didn't want to leave! We even started talking about moving there (isn't it what everybody does when they are in Europe?), and I would spot him looking at real state prices, every time we passed by a store advertising homes.
We visited Paris in July of 2023, and we had four nights there. I wanted to experience different neighborhoods of the city, so we booked two hotels in different locations. The first location we picked was Madaleine, which is close to 8th arrondissement, and a few steps away from Champs-Elysees. What a beautiful area! We stayed at Hyatt Madaleine, a 5-star boutique hotel, and it was simply incredible! They give you a welcome drink, which is a local French champagne (it might have been one of the best champagnes I've had in my life!), and talk about your stay. From 5-7pm they have a happy hour, which means that you will have wine for free during this period! Yes, free (French) wine for two hours! How amazing is that? Also, everything in your minibar's room is included in your stay, you didn't have to pay anything extra if you consumed a drink or two. When we were told this, my husband and I looked at each other and said: "This just gets better and better!"

But let's talk about what is actually important, how much we paid for this luxury stay! How much did we actually pay for this? Would you believe me if I say zero dollars? Yes, $0! Too good to be true? Not really. We used our credit card points, which we transferred 1:1 to Hyatt, and were able to book this dreamy stay, for 30k/night! And at the time, one night was costing around 650 Euros! That's 1,300 Euros if we actually had to pay for this! So the total spent here was 60k points for two nights.
Our second stay was at another 5-star hotel, but this time we chose a location right next to the Louvre museum. Our hotel was called Hotel Du Louvre, and it's one of Hyatt's collection called The Unbound Collection, by Hyatt. This was priced at 800 Euros per night, but we paid 35k points/night. Unfortunately, we were not received with a welcome drink, and had to pay for everything we consumed at our room's minibar. Our room was not as incredible as our previous hotel, but it was really good! They also didn't have any happy hour for their guests, with free wine. They had the hotel bar, but you had to pay for your drinks. My husband and I were a little disappointed, because this hotel was way more expensive than the Hyatt Madaleine, but they were not offering any free perks! So we spent 70k points for two nights. And this comes with a total of 130k points for four nights in luxury hotels in Paris.

Now let's talk about how I accrued these many points. I will tell you my secret using just one word: Chase! I applied for the Chase Sapphire Preferred credit card, which gave me a welcome bonus of 60,000. I have also applied for their credit card for business owners, called Chase Ink Business Unlimited, which gave me 90,000 points as a welcome bonus. That's a total of 150,000 points in total, and this gave me the freedom to stay in luxury hotels in Paris, paying $0 (Hyatt doesn't charge any hotel fees when you book your stay using points)!
So, if I had to actually pay for those stays, it would've cost me 1,300 Euros (Hyatt Madaleine) + 1,600 Euros (Hotel du Louvre) = 2,900 Euros for the four nights! And that is the power of points!
