From August 12 through September 30, 2026, Chase is giving a transfer bonus when you move Ultimate Rewards points to Air Canada Aeroplan. That means the awards you already want can cost noticeably fewer points. Below I break down exactly how the bonus works (there is a catch), and the flights I would actually book with it.

- 2.How to get 20% vs 30%

- 4.Asia in business class

The Offer
From August 12 to September 30, 2026, transfer Chase Ultimate Rewards to Air Canada Aeroplan and get a 20% bonus. So 1,000 Chase points become 1,200 Aeroplan points.
Eligible Chase points include those earned on the Sapphire Preferred, Sapphire Reserve, Sapphire Reserve for Business, Ink Business Preferred, and J.P. Morgan Reserve.
How to Get 20% vs 30%
This is the part people get wrong, so let me make it crystal clear:
Quick example with the full 30%: 50,000 Chase points become 65,000 Aeroplan points. But again, that 30% only happens if you have the Chase Aeroplan card and transfer 50,000 or more in one transaction.
Europe in Business Class
Here is where this bonus shines. East Coast to Europe in business class is just 60,000 Aeroplan points, which drops to about 50,000 Chase points after the 20% bonus. From the West Coast it is a bit more.
| Route | Airline & cabin | Points before | After 20% bonus |
|---|---|---|---|
| East Coast to Germany | Lufthansa business | 60,000 | 50,000 |
| JFK to Frankfurt | Singapore business | 60,000 | 50,000 |
| East Coast to Zurich | Swiss business | 60,000 | 50,000 |
| West Coast to Frankfurt or Munich | Lufthansa business | 75,000 | 63,000 |
Pro tip: to avoid mixed-cabin itineraries (where part of your trip is not actually in business class), click "more options" when you search and exclude mixed cabin.

Asia in Business Class
ANA to Tokyo is one of the best uses of Aeroplan, but availability is the hard part: it tends to open either last minute or almost a year in advance, and there is often just 1 seat. There is usually good space to and from Hawaii. ANA first class for 120,000 points (100,000 after the bonus) is a true unicorn. If you see it, book it. EVA Air to Taipei is another strong option from the West Coast.
| Route | Airline & cabin | Points before | After 20% bonus |
|---|---|---|---|
| Hawaii to/from Tokyo | ANA business | 55,000 | 46,000 |
| Mexico City to Tokyo | ANA business | 85,000 | 71,000 |
| LAX to Tokyo | ANA business | 85,000 | 71,000 |
| US to Tokyo | ANA first | 120,000 | 100,000 |
| West Coast to Taipei | EVA Air business | 85,000 | 71,000 |

More Sweet Spots
A few more that are easy to overlook: nonstop economy from Florida to Fortaleza, Brazil on GOL, cheap domestic flights, and business class to Cairo on EgyptAir nonstop from JFK.
| Route | Airline & cabin | Points before | After 20% bonus |
|---|---|---|---|
| Florida to Fortaleza, Brazil | GOL economy (nonstop) | 30,000 | 25,000 |
| Domestic flights | United economy | 10,000 | 9,000 |
| JFK to Cairo | EgyptAir business (nonstop) | 75,000 | 63,000 |

Is It Worth It?
Only if you have a specific award in mind. Do not transfer just because there is a bonus, these Aeroplan bonuses come around regularly, several times over the past few years. The right order is always: find the award you want, confirm it is available, calculate how many Chase points you need after the 20% bonus, and then transfer. Transfers to Aeroplan cannot be reversed.
Need More Chase Points?
You can transfer to Aeroplan from several programs (Amex, Capital One, Bilt, and more), but right now Chase is the only one offering a bonus. So if you earn Chase points, this is your moment.
Want to stock up before the bonus ends on September 30? These cards earn transferable Ultimate Rewards:

Bottom Line
Chase's 20% bonus to Aeroplan (30% if you hold the Aeroplan card and transfer 50,000+ at once) can seriously cut what you pay for premium cabins, business class to Europe from about 50,000 Chase points, ANA to Tokyo, EVA to Taipei, and more. Just find your award first, confirm the space, and only transfer once you are ready to book.
