Alaska Atmos Points Can Now Book Philippine Airlines
Alaska's Mileage Plan (now known as Atmos Rewards, the mileage program for Alaska Airlines and Hawaiian Airlines) has officially opened award bookings on Philippine Airlines. If you've been looking for another way to get to the Philippines or around Asia, this is a new redemption option worth knowing.
Here's the quick version:
- Philippine Airlines awards are now bookable with Alaska Atmos points.
- You can book directly on alaskaair.com.
- Flights include nonstop service to Manila, plus connections throughout the Philippines and Asia.
Example Pricing
Business Class starts at:
- Seattle (SEA) → Manila (MNL): 75,000 Alaska Atmos points
- Vancouver (YVR) → Manila (MNL): 75,000 Alaska Atmos points
- Honolulu (HNL) → Manila (MNL): 75,000 Alaska Atmos points
- Los Angeles (LAX) → Manila (MNL): 85,000 Alaska Atmos points
- San Francisco (SFO) → Manila (MNL): 85,000 Alaska Atmos points
- New York (JFK) → Manila (MNL): 85,000 Alaska Atmos points
- Toronto (YYZ) → Manila (MNL): 85,000 Alaska Atmos points
Taxes and fees are relatively low.

Booking Philippine Airlines With Qatar Avios
Alaska isn't the only way in. Qatar Airways can also book Philippine Airlines, and Qatar uses distance-based pricing for all of its Avios bookings. Here's what you need from each gateway to Manila.

Why I'd Still Consider Both Options
Even though Qatar looks more expensive on paper, here's why it's still worth a look:
- Not everyone has Alaska Atmos points.
- Avios are much easier to earn.
- I regularly see 30–40% transfer bonuses to Avios.
And getting Avios is easier than most people think. Qatar Airways accepts transfers from American Express, Capital One, Citi, Bilt, and Rove, all at a 1:1 ratio. Chase Ultimate Rewards doesn't transfer to Qatar directly, but you can move Chase points to British Airways, and BA Avios transfer to Qatar at a 1:1 ratio at no extra cost. So Chase points work here too. In other words, just about every major credit card currency has a path to Qatar Avios.

How I Booked This Flight
I booked JFK → MNL in Business Class for 85,000 Alaska Atmos points per person, each way. I transferred 170,000 points from my Bilt account to Atmos and spent a total of 170,000 points for two Business Class seats.
The taxes and fees came out to just $5.60. That's because I have the Atmos Summit card, which waives partner award fees. Normally, when you redeem Alaska Atmos points on a partner airline like Philippine Airlines, you'd pay a partner award booking fee on top of taxes. The Atmos Summit card waives that fee entirely, so instead of paying it, I was left with only the actual government taxes: $5.60.
Two Business Class seats to Manila for 170,000 points and $11.20. That was made possible by two of my favorite credit cards: the Bilt Palladium and the Atmos Summit.

The Aircraft
Philippine Airlines flies a few different products, so the plane matters:
- A350-1000 — their best product, with 42 Business Class suites with doors.
- A350-900 — a solid, comfortable option.
- 777-300ER — comes in multiple configurations, including some with angled seats.
At the time of writing, JFK is the only airport currently served by the A350-1000.
UPDATE: San Francisco (SFO) will start operating the new aircraft starting September 2026.
Why It Matters
This is currently one of the most attractive ways to book Philippine Airlines Business Class. Award space is available now, but it may become harder to find as more travelers discover the partnership.
JOP Tip
If you're planning a trip to Asia, compare Alaska Atmos and Qatar Privilege Club before booking. Alaska may offer lower mileage pricing on some routes, while Qatar gives you another option using easy-to-earn transferable Avios. Since both programs now have access to Philippine Airlines awards, it's worth checking both before you transfer your points.
